READING ASSIGNMENTS

You are responsible to have read the assignments by the time you come to class. This is critical to good discussion and learning.

If you read about 10 pages per day
 you will keep up!

(And the pages are small in Sophie's World!)

 WHAT'S MY PHILOSOPHY

"What's My Philosophy" is to be completed and handed in at the end of class.  Each one is worth a possible 10 pts and cannot be made up.

You must include some point from the daily reading, lecture, or discussion that relates to your position, and underline it.

These exercises are designed to help you consolidate your thinking on the days work, express your own philosophy, and write your ideas concisely and clearly.

 DAILY QUIZZES

Daily quizzes are given at the beginning of each class and following the special focus session, and cannot be made up.  The questions are taken from the assigned readings for the day.  Each quiz is worth a possible 10 points.

 TESTS

Final Exam is worth a possible 165 pts each

The final is a comprehensive of 40 questions selected from the questions you have already had on Tests 1, 2, and 3 and your Darwin quiz. It will also have ten mix-and-match terms and definitions from the glossary on the website. This makes 50 questions at 3 points each for a total of 150.

The other 15 points will be a take-home, email-in, class evaluation form handed out the last day of class or taken from this website (see below) and due in on or before midnight on the day of the final (May 22).
